I have had a great 4 days with your children, and they are doing a beautiful job following all the new third grade expectations. I look forward to seeing hopefully most of you at Curriculum Night at 6:30 next Wednesday the 14th. There is lots of information I want to pass on to you right at the beginning of the year, and it is always best to do it in person.
Please look in your child’s blue folder for an explanation of their weekly homework. Homework in third grade is consistent throughout the year. Your child is expected to read for at least 20 minutes per night and practice their math facts for 5 minutes. At this point 3rd graders should be close to fluent in their addition and subtraction facts. In mid-October we will begin multiplication and division.
Have a nice night and please email me anytime with questions or concerns.
