It was nice to meet with so many of you at conferences. I always enjoy discussing your child’s progress and learning about how things are going at home. Below is a summary of what we are doing in school, as well as some reminders of up-coming events.
As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a nice week!
Reading: Students are enjoying our class read aloud, The Hundred Dresses as they hunt for social issues in the mentor text and in their own books.
Writing: In writing workshop, third graders will continue working on the mechanics and structure of strong opinion writing (introduction claim, 3 body paragraphs with evidence and conclusion).
Math: We are continuing our unit on fractions. Please continue to encourage your child to study their multiplication and division facts!
Social Studies: In Social Studies students will be working with maps. Students will use keys and scales to help navigate and understand how to read a map.
Music: Please practice your recorder for 5-10+ minutes each day.
Be sure to keep your recorder & sheet music in your backpack.
