This week in math students will extend their knowledge of multiplication by learning about the commutative and distributive properties of multiplication. By this point all third graders should be fluent in their 2, 4, 5 and 10 multiplication and division facts.
Happy New Year! With the new year comes a new unit! Third graders will begin another fiction unit called Character Studies. They will also dive deeper into learning and solving challenging vocabulary in their reading.
For the first week in 2018, third grade writers will begin our unit on Opinion Writing. This week’s grammar lesson will be a review of the lessons that we have had so far. (sentence parts, commas, possessive pronouns, apostrophes, regular and irregular plural nouns, spelling, pronouns and pronoun order, transition words, capitalization, singular subject verb agreement and abstract nouns)
